If your small one has not begun to drool, they or they will probably do so soon. Your baby’s salivary glands have been working since they or they was in the womb, but now everything goes in to the mouth & your child is probably producing more saliva than they or they can swallow. It is time to break out the bibs! Lots of you may select to permanently attach a bib in order to keep your son or daughter’s outfit dry & reduce your laundry burden, but keep in mind to take the bib off while your small one is sleeping.
It is all right to be protective of your kids, but specialists are warning that over-protection can actually put your small one in danger for serious illnesses & more often for common illnesses & excessive allergies. Relax! DO, however, pay attention to small items.
The rule of thumb is that if it will fit through a toilet paper roll, your child can feasible swallow it & get it lodged in the wind pipe. Your son or daughter is most likely sleeping for longer periods of time. Breast fed children may be going from eating every 2-3 hours to waiting 4-5 hours between meals, while bottle fed children may be going as long as 6 hours, at night (well, hopefully at night). Most children will have six to six longer sleeping periods with longer awake & alert periods in between.
A light sleeper will stay a light sleeper, while an early morning riser is liable to stay that way. If your small one is a long sleeper or prefers shorter power naps, that tendency may stay the same, sometimes until reaching puberty. Your child is learning to rock!
